CEDS Updates

Each Regional Council prepares and/or updates an annual Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for submission to the Governor. In addition to that submission, it is also distributed to the Council members, the Appalachian Regional Commission, the Economic Development Administration, and the West Virginia Development Office. It is even available to the general public, by a posting the most updated version on this page.

The CEDS is a local planning and regional implementation process designed to create jobs, foster more stable and diversified economies, improve living conditions, and provide a mechanism for coordinating the efforts of persons and organizations concerned with economic development.  This document  identifies the goals and objectives of the development program as well as the action plan to execute them, a description of the resources in the Region, and an outline of the standards for evaluation of the program’s achievements. Along with other profitable information on the Region, this report serves as an excellent resource for information of Region 4.
